School opens at 8:55am and finished at 3:30pm. Your child’s regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success. As soon as the children enter the classroom in the morning, children immediately start their learning. If children are not here on time, they miss out on such opportunities.
PE is on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
The children need to bring a labelled PE kit in a bag to school. These kits will be sent home at the end of each half term.
Please ensure that this is appropriate for the weather.
1S Homework
PLEASE ensure you read with your child as often as possible. Books will be changed twice a week.
Homework books will be sent home at the beginning of each term, these will be filled a range of activities that will be based on our current learning topics in school.
Spelling Tests and Times Tables Challenges will take place every Friday afternoon. Please help your child to learn their spellings and practice counting in tens, fives and twos.
Click here to see a curriculum overview for the year for Class 1S.
The children have a Guided Reading session every morning in which they read with an adult and have activities related to their book and our topic on the other days. This provides an idea of the things we do during Guided Reading.
