Nurture at Woodnook - The Nest
The Nest is new to Woodnook Primary School this year. It is a place that has been created where children can access to feel safe and secure, and escape to if they need a space to regulate their emotions.
Mrs Dickinson and Mrs O’Hare are based in The Nest and provide a variety of different types of support across all year groups, as and when needed.
We believe every child should feel valued and heard, and we are passionate about empowering all children to take responsibility and ownership of their emotions and well-being.
During sessions in The Nest children may work on;
developing their trust in others,
kindness,
mindfulness,
self esteem,
confidence,
self regulation,
thinking positively,
stress and anxiety,
dealing with anger,
taking turns and cooperating with others.
Areas in The Nest are developed with the children’s needs in mind and they are ever changing.
