Rock Star Day
The children and staff had a wonderful time for Rock Star Day, where the children spent the day completing times table challenges as well as enjoying an air guitar competition. Our assembly, praised and decided the ultimate champions of the times tables and air guitar competitions. It was lots of fun and has raised the profile of TTRockstars across KS2 and times tables in EYFS and KS1.
Money Sense
To celebrate World Maths Day, we were visited by volunteers from Natwest Bank to work with the children on different activities. The children from EYFS - Year 3 learnt about 'How we use money' and the children in Year 4 - 6 explored different ways money can be used.
AGT Maths Event
Some of the children in Year 5 and 6, met up with children from Crawshawbooth Primary School to complete in a range of puzzle activities.
Autumn Maths Challenge
In Autumn Term, the children were asked to explore 'Maths in Action'. A winner was chosen from each class and these children identified things such as time, measuring, architecture and even mechanics! The images below show the winners and their work, which is displayed in the hall.
Spring Two Maths Challenge
In the second Spring Term, the children were asked to explore 'Maths is Money' by planning a three course meal for under £10. The amazing work is displayed in the hall as shown below.
Spring One Maths Challenge
In the first Spring Term, the children were asked to explore 'Maths is Fun' by designing a new board game. A winner was chosen from each class and these children were able to explain how Maths was used in the making of their game. The images below show the winners and their work, which is displayed in the hall.
